Yoga Shirt
What are some quick, cheap things I can do to “freshen” my look?
I am self concious about my body, my teeth especially, and I feel self-concious especially since I had a baby. I’m always LIVING in my yoga pants and a t-shirt, and I feel ugly. I want to do something fresh so I can feel pretty about myself, but I have no idea how to shop for clothes anymore and I hatttte my teeth. I wish they were white and the front two were level with the ones next to them. What are some things I can do? Any ideas would be GREAT! Please!
Well first off, congrats on the new baby!!
I remember feeling so self concious about how I looked the first year after each of my children were born (I have 3) because I was breast-feeding and unable to loose weight as quickly as maybe I might have desired.
First thing, connect with other moms… (trust me, this will help how you feel. Especially about the yoga pants– cause girl, you’re not the only one! We alllll do it.) Try & find a mommy & me group. Put your wee one in swimming lessons if over 6 months, ask your doctor or health unit if there are any free parenting groups in your area. Heck, start hanging out at the local park more.. getting out for a walk and just sitting on the bench for a bit each day will help you too even if you don’t meet another mommy right off the bat.
Your clothing needs are going to change. That was hard for me to adjust to. Bye bye size 5… hello elastic waistbands & what felt like training bras (nursing bras)
If you feel you need help just learning what different styles are going to fit, what is in style this year, etc… I suggest going to Macy’s or a department store where you know you can get some help from women who are in the know. You don’t have to buy everything you see (mind you, Macy’s can have some great sales. lol) but gather ideas in your head, let the women help you with sizes.. learn to appreciate the new you. The mommy your lil baby adores. 
If you see something you really like but maybe wince at the price tag… here are some alternatives:
Salvation Army, Value Village, 2nd Hand, Consignment, Wal-Mart even!!
As for your teeth, well: Crest makes some fantastic whitening products, and lysterine makes a whitening pre-rinse that my sister swears by. Why not give something like that a whirl before more expensive alternatives. With whiter teeth, it gives you more self confidence and maybe then you wont even notice that your teeth are unlevel.
