why am i not losing weight?
i have been on a strict diet for over two weeks now. i have been trying to do weight watchers, basically eating salad, veggies, fruits, fat free yogurt, wheat breads, and chicken, with little other than that only. i have been doing so well. i walk regularly and do an exercise video 3 times a week (jillian micheals! 30 minute work out). i dont feel any different at all except for so sore… and i have also been doing the wii fit. i weigh in everyday and have gone back and forth each day between 6 lbs, up and down, up and down. but never consistant weight loss. i have googled and googled what i am doing wrong but i just dont get it. what else can i do? what am i doing wrong? i have 4 kids, and my youngest is only 1. so i dont get to the gym. i weigh about 160 and am around 5′6”.
First, I think you are weighing yourself too often. There will naturally be some fluctuations in your weight from day to day even if you are losing weight. Pick one day of the week that you can weigh yourself at the same time each week and stick with it. Usually first thing in the morning is best as you have not eaten yet. Wear similar clothes each time or weigh yourself naked. Be consistent from week to week for accurate weights.
Second, make sure that you have your daily points figured out right and that you are not eating more than you are supposed to (or less for that matter). Here is the quiz if you need it: http://onemorepound.com/2009/07/15/daily-point-quiz/
Third, give it time. Even if it takes 6 weeks for the weight loss to kick in, you know that you are eating healthier and living a healthier lifestyle and that is all that matters. In time the weight loss will come.
